What is the use of the SLAT and AILET Exam?

Symbiosis Law Aptitude Test (SLAT) and All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) are national law college admission tests taken by young law aspirants. Both of these tests serve as a qualification measure for students to secure admission into law colleges. The SLAT and AILET exams are university-based tests that take away some of the competition from CLAT.

All India Law Entrance Test (AILET)

All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) is an entrance exam conducted by the National Law University (NLU) for admission into the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate courses of law at the university. AILET exam is one of the best exams that is held for Law admissions.

The primilanaires of AILET:

  1. AILET Eligibility Criteria

AILET has three tiers for its eligibility criteria. BA LLA Hons., LLM, and PhD, are all required to adhere by all applicants. Failure to comply with all the standards will result in disqualification of the candidate.

The syllabus is divided into five sections: English, General knowledge and Current Affairs, Analytical Reasoning, Legal Aptitude, and Elementary Mathematics. There are 12 questions from each section. The questions are multiple-choice, and the difficulty level is presumed to be of Class 12

Symbiosis Law Aptitude Test (SLAT)

The syllabus is divided into five sections: English, General knowledge and Current Affairs, Analytical Reasoning, Legal Aptitude, and Logical Reasoning. There are 12 questions from each section. The questions are multiple-choice, and the difficulty level is presumed to be of Class 12.

  1. SLAT Personal Interaction and WAT Round

Shortlisted exam candidates are invited for the final rounds of writing ability tests and personal interviews. WAT and personal interviews are conducted in person. The personal interviews check the suitability and competence of the candidates. Some of the topics covered in the personal interview round include the basics of the Indian Constitution, the Supreme Court, recent court judgments, government schemes, and affluential laws.

In conclusion, although SLAT and AILET are limited to select colleges and not relegated to the national level, they are still challenging and hard to crack. SLAT and AILET are incredibly important private and public university entrance exams conducted for admission into select colleges. Students particularly interested in Symbiosis or Delhi university are welcome to try their luck with this entrance test.
