deku looks and sounds like one of those games that really does work in the hands of a pro, and if you can play it, you will be satisfied with your success. I mean, it was released in April, so it would have been a few months before we could play it. But that’s not really the point.
The point is that it is the first game in deku series to feature a real-time-combat-based game system. It makes it much easier to get into, but it also makes it much more fun. I mean, I could never get tired of seeing my little brother and uncles fighting over the same 2D platformers. But since this game is all about the combat, I actually found myself relaxing a little when I played.
Even though the combat system in deku is a little different from the other games in the series, I think the fact that it is completely free makes it feel very cheap. I mean, every level is about fighting one particular enemy for a long time until either a boss is defeated or you give up in defeat.
deku is very much a case of “do what you want” with the exception of the boss fights. The idea is that you must fight each boss one by one and only one at a time for as long as you can. What you don’t get in deku is that you can actually attack the boss after you defeat him. You can also turn the camera 180 degrees and shoot at the boss’s head. The fight lasts for 40 minutes.
Although deku is a platformer it’s actually much more than that. The game is made in a way that you can play it in three different ways. First you can play it as a traditional fighting game. Second, you can play it as a platformer, and third, you can play it as a first-person shooter. The game is definitely more than just a platformer.
