i’m glad my mom died, because it makes me feel better about the reality of this world.
It’s a little different with my mom dying, but in a good way. Because it made me feel like I’m not a complete asshole for not paying attention when she was dying, so hopefully a little bit of that will rub off on you. It’s also nice to be able to remember why we’re here in the first place, though I wish it wasn’t necessary.

That’s why you need to make sure you are not taking that life without thinking about it. And if you are thinking this is selfish, you need to consider what it costs to take good care of yourself when you are so busy being the best that you possibly can. It’s tough. You have a career that you have worked very hard to become and that you expect will last you a lifetime. You have a family that you love. You have all the friends and colleagues that you can count on to love you.
Being a mother isn’t easy. Not when you’re a single parent (well, at least your mother is). But if you had the choice between spending your days at home worrying and wondering what will happen to your children if something happens to you, or being a parent, you are going to choose the latter. And that’s where it gets tricky. Because when the day you have everything you need, you don’t have a choice.
Some women do make choices about when to have children. We have our “mommy wars”. That is a term that refers to the period where women fight to keep their kids from leaving them before they’ve had a chance to make up their mind. Its a weird, but often hilarious, thing.
